DECORATIVE / FOLK ART
When I first started painting in 2000, I just didnt comprehend how much this new craft for me to learn would change my life!
I love painting all kinds of things from traditional styles, to highly decorative items. From realism to abstract art.
Sometimes I wonder where the fine line is drawn between Decorative - Folk Art - Fine Art!
Here are some of my treasured projects!
14A PUFFING BILLY
For many years I enjoyed being a volunteer on this magnificent narrow gauge railway, and managed to score a few journeys up and down the line from Belgrave to Gembrook in the Dandenong Ranges up the front in the engine compartment - definately something to put on your list of 'TO DO' items! This loco is 14A - one of the many locos that comprise the wonderfull PUFFING BILLY Railway (Emerald Tourist Railway Board).

RIKKI'S OCEAN
This painting was one of my first seascapes painted as a present for my daughter. I have always been very fond of this project, painted from a photo of the magnificent TURA Beach in southern NSW.

ANTIQUE ROSE PAINTBRUSH BOX
I really enjoyed creating this design based on some beautiful quilting fabric I had stored away. I had fun being really 'loose' with the roses - something which was very outside my comfort zone! I decided to 'antique' the box and I wax polished it with some beautifully perfumed Sandlewood polish instead of varnishing! Smells fabulous!
