                                                     Computer Paper into Art Paper

Computer paper is archival, therefore it is useful for turning into art paper for a variety of uses. Rice papers & any other acid free, archival papers can be used. If you are not concerned with longevity, perhaps if you are doing something for craftwork, good quality brown paper can be used to make some great papers

The papers pictured below are only a few of an unlimited amount of finishes and colours that can be obtained when creating your own Art Paper - the techniques are easy and fun to do as you see what you can achieve when having a . Anyone can do the techniques even people who haven't learned to paint.

Let There Be Light This painting is a mixed media piece. I have used Jo Sonja's Artist Colours as an underpainting with a pastel top layer. I love to experiment trying out things to see what works & what maybe doesn't work - I usually find though that things mostly seem to work maybe not always for the present artwork being painted but at some later date it may work for something else.  This comes from product knowledge about the paints & mediums one regularly uses.  I have been painting since 1995 with Chroma products, essentially with Jo Sonja paints & mediums for all that time and all the other Chroma products in the later times of my painting life. The piece is painted on textured (cold pressed) illustration board I wanted the painting to be representational & what I wanted to achieve was to capture the light. The colours are not the real colours of course but because I was aiming to capture light & not the colour that doesn't matter. I really like the colours nonetheless. It breaks many painting rules but as Richard Rogers say's "Its the results that count" & I was happy with the end result with its resulting atmosphere & light.
