Chromacryl can be painted onto most surfaces including: Canvas, paper, card, illustration board, wood, fabric, plaster, masonry and for decorative effects on metal, plastic & glass.

Binder Medium

Binder Medium

The most versatile Chromacryl medium. An excellent primer used to seal and prepare all painting surfaces. You can also mix Binder Medium with Chromacryl colours to extend the paint which adds gloss to the finished painting. Ideal for glazing techniques and is also an excellent adhesive for collage, paper pulp and papier mache applications. Dries to a clear finish.

Clear Gel Medium

Clear Gel Medium

Great as a paint extender and for transparent glazing techniques. Ideal for monoprinting and overprinting. Clear Gel Medium works as a release agent when applied to the surface prior to paint application. It can also be used as a reduction paste in silkscreen painting.

Painting Medium/Varnish

Painting Medium/Varnish

The most versatile Chromacryl medium giving good colour saturation, ideal for enriching and protecting finished artworks. Seals paper surfaces so that when acrylic paint is applied, the paint retains its richness. Rejuvenates colour when applied over dried acrylic paint. Clean up with cold, soapy water.

Retarder Medium

Retarder Medium

Slows down the drying time of your paint when added in small quantities to Chromacryl colours. Great for blending colours, particularly in fine, detailed work. Most useful for silkscreen printing, particularly in hot dry conditions. 10% Retarder Medium added to Chromacryl colours stops the screen from clogging.

Textile Medium

Textile Medium

Add Textile Medium to Chromacryl Colours to make an immediate and effective textile paint with washfast durability. You can paint free-hand, block print or silk screen designs onto most natural fabrics. When dry, "fix" the colour into the fabric with heat. This can be done by ironing the fabric on a hot setting for at least 2 minutes.

Waterproof Drawing Ink

Waterproof Drawing Ink

A general purpose black drawing ink ideal for brush or pen work. Black Ink may be reduced with water as desired. Fine pens require Black Ink to be diluted with an equal quantity of water.

Impasto Gel

Impasto Gel

Mix Impasto Gel with Chromacryl Colours to add more body to your paint. Use Impasto Gel to build thick structure and texture (impasto). It can be used for thick glazes and is an excellent adhesive for mixed media, especially heavy objects in collage work. Ideal for 3D construction. Impasto Gel is milky when wet but dries clear and remains flexible.

Gesso Primer

Gesso Primer

For the preparation of most painting surfaces: canvas, cardboard, illustration board, paper, etc. Chromacryl Gesso has excellent covering power and provides a smooth, even finish with a very fine "tooth". Use for the preparation of acrylic or oil paintings.

Chroma Generic Solvent Varnishes

Chroma Generic Solvent Varnishes

Gloss, Satin & Matte. Strippable solvent varnishes for oil and acrylic paintings. These are strippable varnishes which allow paintings to be cleaned by swabbing away the varnish layer with mineral spirit. They may be applied directly from the container and produce a range of protective coated sheens.
