The Metal Colours

Golds, silvers and mica pearls are very difficult to use. These metal effect colours can take over a painting and it is difficult to use them with subtlety. Tinting White/Pearl Titanium, and toning Grey Mid are carefully balanced mixtures that have a glimmer that can give a lift to a subdued painting, and they are easy to use.

Dry, sun saturated landscapes exist in Australia, the south of France, in Spain, in Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico etc and these two tinting colours can be useful to suggest very strong light with bleached colour effects.
