Euan Macleod's Master Classes
In December 2010 and late January just passed, Chroma sponsored master classes given by renowned artist Euan McLeod. The early December group was conducted at the S. H. Ervin Gallery at Observatory Hill, the Rock Sydney, and the other at the Tweed River Art Gallery in Murwillimbah, northern NSW. All participants were able to take advantage of using artists quality paint with Atelier Interactive which Chroma donated for the workshops.
Each group had about 15 people, working on paper. The subjects were figures for the first class on Observatory Hill although there was a wonderful view of the harbour outside and in the tweed valley they turned to landscape. Both the master classes went very well indeed and the galleries received great feedback on the day, along with positive emails afterwards. The participants had a great time engaging with creative methods directed by Euan as well as using and learning about the paint.
Euan and the Education Officers recognised Chroma’s contribution as generous. The artist spoke in-depth about the materials and various qualities of Atelier Interactive paints and mediums that were used. He also encouraged the participants to experiment with the paints and try out their properties as much as they could.
Both galleries were extremely thankful for the support given to them to run this program and at Tweed Gallery for the assistance the program shows to regional artists.
