Cool Canvas is a enterprise local to Bolton, U.K. run by a bright young chap called Ollie Wotherspoon. He has had award winning success with his concept to form visually creative environments, with a team of skilled professionals. The company develops play areas, internal and external,for positive and lasting impact in schools and community sites. Ollie, a visual artist, works with the children in a given situation to inject colour and make their excitement and vision a reality. An interesting recent project has been the “Quiet room” in Bishop Bridgman Primary School, Bolton.

For this really cool project, Cool Canvas ran workshops with the school children to design their own unique calming area. The children chose the theme of Space, artist Ollie Spoon transformed their designs into original murals around the walls and ceiling.

Fibre lighting was installed in the ceiling to give the effect of flickering stars.The children also selected a pallet of colours with which the walls were airbrushed.

Ollie has taken the children's drawings, adjusted them for scale, and transferred them using templates to make the murals in the entire room. The children want to feel as they enter the space, that they have been transported into a tranquil, relaxing dimension .
