Lismore Art Club 50th Annual Exhibition.

Lismore Art Club has been a significant force in the development of the arts in Lismore NSW over the last 50 years. The club celebrated with its annual exhibition opened at the Lismore Worker’s Club by Major Jenny Dowell on Thursday 5th August, this year. It was judged by Brett Alington new director of the Lismore Regional Gallery. Chroma sponsored 3 prizes of in kind paint product.

The 1st Chroma award was given for Highly Commended to Anne Slade with View from the Gallery, in watercolour.The painting depicts a view towards MT Warning from the Tweed Valley Gallery at Murwillimbah NSW. The judge’s commented “ Good Use of perspective and light(sic) to illustrate a well known landmark.”

Helen Revis won the second Chroma award for her image of Cape Leveque WA.
The judge remarked ” Minimal brush strokes evoke a feeling of place- almost a fleeting vision of time.”

The 3rd Chroma award was went to Yellow and Blue by Margaret E Brown. Adlington remarked on awarding this painting, “A very strong still life, competently handled. The vase is bursting with life.”
