Chroma Sponsors Artists Society of Canberra- Spring Art Exhibition 2010

Chroma once again sponsored the Acrylic Painting Prize in the Artists Society of Canberra- Spring Art Exhibition. It took place over the NSW & ACT long weekend of 2nd- 4th October, including the opening on Friday night 1st October. It was opened by local Canberra identity Genevieve Jacobs of 666 ABC radio.

402 entries hung in the Wesley centre of Forrest in Canberra. The scope of the exhibition was extensive with 85 members making and exhibiting work for the exhibition and most submitting multiple entries.

The Society was extremely grateful for Chroma’s support. Combined with that of other local and national business it meant that the exhibition was very successful, attracting a high quantity and standard of artworks. Chroma provided vouchers for painting materials to the value of $500 spread between 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners.

Mario Sordini took out first place in the Acrylic Painting category with his painting Sinking Balls ,

Michael Smithson’s work Itza Jungle Out There came in 2nd place in that category and

Third prize was awarded to Ann Gould for her painting Seams - acrylic
