The gentleman in the background is Terry McDonald (you may recognise him from the pencil portrait I made of him, Terry was the man who taught me how to model. The House on Hall Lane The House on Hall lane is about four miles from where I live. For a number of years now I have been telling myself "I am going to paint that scene one day" so eventually I got around to doing just that. I went to the area and took over 170 photographs of all kinds of trees and shrubs, anything that would or could be part of the final painting.
