This beautiful bird was painted by one of my students, Nancy.

Nancy has been painting with me for many many years and loves painting on Metal and painting Australian Birds.

This lovely little puppy reminds me so much  of our Annie..........so when I saw this picture in Peggy Harris book Painting Baby Animals I could not resist.........this is my first attempt with the Interactive Atelier Acrylics.

Although in Peggy's book she uses Oils, I have adapted a way of using her technique but using Interactive Acrylics and it works really well because of the slow drying period.

Painting fur is such fun, I hope others will try it also.

It will part of the workshop we will do next month.

This was an ordinary black plasic pot.     Using All Purpose Seal I have sealed it with two coats, then still using some All Purpose Sealer sponged on the back ground two coats, then let it rested for 24 hours.

Traced on the design which is by Kate Broadfoot and painted it with Jo Sonj'a paints. 

 Then sealed it with two coates of  JW Exterior Satin Varnish.

Last time I painted plastic pots the lasted for over 8 years.......Some as still going strong.

We get a very cold winter with some frost and a very hot summer.   so the paints are really tested.

Here is maybe a new idea on how to make a lovely gift for someone.

We are all aware that Plastic Bags is slowly been eliminated from Super Markets.

So I thought why not try painting them.

At the reject shops you can purchases these new types of plastic material bags for $1.00.  The best thing about these bags is that........they do not have a brand stampted on them

So using the Nice thick Atelier Interactive Artists Acrylic, I painted on this design.

Using a sponge to put some background and then using a one stroke Folk Art technique I painted on very roughly this design, I didn't put to much thought as I wasn't sure if it would work or not.

Much to my delight it did, then I put a light solvent water proff spray over to protect it.

So guess what my one my Christmas presents will be.
