Chroma Supports Tenterfield Schools Arts Competition

Louise Jenkins, artist and member of Borderline Regional Arts Association Inc writes;

In April Tenterfield hosted its 13th Annual Oracles of the Bush program entertaining visitors with performers from the bush and their poetry. This year, in association with the Borderline Regional Arts Assoc Inc (Borderline), a student art competition was run assisted with a program for creation of works designed to inspire and encourage visual arts inTenterfield's schools.
Chroma Australia played a significant role in the stimulation of interest in the arts in the local area. The winners were awarded packages containing a beautiful certificate and generous vouchers enabling them to make selections from Chroma’s great product ranges, including a comprehensive introductory guide.
One primary class also participated in a follow up workshop on mixing colours with the Chroma 2 paint trial. I think that the students were truly amazed at the variety and intensity of colours they could produce. They will never again view a bottle of paint as simply one colour but see in it the potential to mix other colours. The paint has terrific body which will make it great for experimenting with different ways of applying paint. Adherence to a variety of surfaces also opens the door to collage and sculpture. Thank you, Chroma Australia!

I found it a great privilege to have an influence on the children when young artists are still able to ease themselves over the stumbling blocks which can undermine self confidence and stifle artistic development. All children, irrespective of their future career paths, can benefit from exercising that side of the brain which increases perception awareness and develops lateral and holistic problem solving skills.
The 2010 Oracles of the Bush, will be held in Tenterfield next April attracting visitors with its unique Australian Federation Town history and events complimented by Tenterfield’s many natural attractions.
