About Rachel Baker

A lover of watercolour and Nature specialising in florals and wildlife.

Rachel started painting at the age of 7. She won her first art award as an eleven year old with a painting her parents still treasure to this day.  Rachel's passion for art has never wavered and this can be seen in her renditions of  nature and it's creations. 

Married with 5 children, Rachel's artistic dreams were put on hold then she discoved folkart at the local community centre and from there her skills and imagination have allowed her to grow into a painter that can only be described as simply stunning.  Her ability to look at the everyday items and capture a beauty that no one else sees makes her painting desirable to many.

Leaving school at an early age Rachel took a job at a florist whilst she studied commercial art and small business management.   Her love of flowers and nature can be seen in the way she captures depth and realism in her watercolours. 

In her home state of Victoria, Rachel shares her talent and knowledge with many, travel teaching and doing workshops at conventions and studios both in Victoria and around Australia.  She is an active member of True Blue Decorative Artists Inc. and many other art societies both here and overseas. Her dream is to share her passion with as many people as she can and for everyone to experience art in some way, shape or form.
