Patchings Art Centre Exhibition, Nottinghamshire,UK.
The 2010 Patchings Farm Art Festival in the UK saw Chroma sponsor the event in the form of the “Atelier Interactive Award” competition. Chroma donated four prizes of £250(rrp) worth of Atelier Interactive Artists’ Acrylics. This competition was promoted in “The Artist” and “Leisure Painter” magazines who were overall sponsors of the event. The winners were:
Jackie Ward with The Casserole , A highly polished contemporary painting in acrylics and oils in the still life genre.
Nicki Dennett with her print Victim of Decay . This is layered collograph reflects aspects of how life intersects with the urban environment.
Hugh Cannings , Piazza del Campo, Sienna : A complex and engaging mixed media painting of the PIazza del Campo in Sienna, Italy.
Finally, Louise Stebbing with Looking East , a reduction linocut. The limited palette, composition and strong linear qualities in this work result in a powerful rendition of this otherwise typical country scene.
This year’s competition is on show at Patchings Art Centre in Nottinghamshire until July 11 and you can also see all the other winners and view the exhibition online at www.patchingsartcentre.co.uk
