  • CARDWELL ART PRIZE

    The Hinchinbrook Regional Arts Association ran the Cardwell Art Prize in June 2010. Chroma joined with local businesses, Oxlades Paint and Art and another art supplier to sponsor the prizes. Hinchinbrook Regional Arts was established in 2001 with a non-for profit charter to add the interest of community arts to the sea side, historic town of Cardwell. In keeping with this, the Association runs a biennial Art Prize in it’s Art Gallery, newly established next to the Cardwell School of Arts.

  • Patchings Art Centre Exhibition, Nottinghamshire,UK.

    The 2010 Patchings Farm Art Festival in the UK saw Chroma sponsor the event in the form of the “Atelier Interactive Award” competition. Chroma donated four prizes of £250(rrp) worth of Atelier Interactive Artists’ Acrylics. This competition was promoted in “The Artist” and “Leisure Painter” magazines who were overall sponsors of the event.

  • CHROMA SPONSORS STUDENT ART PRIZE - MEADOWBANK TAFE, SYDNEY AUSTRALIA

    On Thursday 27th May the inaugural Miniature Art Prize for students was opened at Meadowbank TAFE. There were 51 entries from students across all disciplines in the Fine Arts Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses. Students had about 7 weeks to make a special piece within the size limitations or submit a study which fitted into their current body of work.

    Mitch Waite is an artist and teacher, expert in painting techniques with Atelier Interactive acrylics and has run an art school in the South of France for the past 10 years. ‘Mitch Waite Tutorials’ is a brand new website providing downloadable painting tutorials; everything he has been teaching at his school made affordable and easily accessible - online

  • JOHN HUNTER HOSPITAL MORTUARY REBURBISHMENT MURAL

    Dr Lili-Ann Berg completed a beautiful mural in the mortuary corridor of John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle NSW this year. The many people using this corridor and visiting the mortuary in particular, are now greeted by this memorable work of a bird flying against the setting (or rising) sun.

    The Chroma Student Art Competition has been updated to allow comments to be added. To make a comment or read what others have said click the comments link under the painting. Anyone can read a comment but to add one you will need to register an account and login.   • Cambodian Children’s Art Exhibition in Europe

    The Cambodian Children’s Painting Project is a grass roots initiative working with some of the country’s poorest children. The project is trying to create a brighter future for these kids through art and education.

    In the northern hemisphere Spring and Summer of 2010, exhibitions will be held throughout Europe in 20 major cities to raise funds for the project. This is made possible with the support of volunteers who have come from all walks of life and different countries to help with the project.

  • Public Mural by Jeremy Fox-Rayner in Andalucia, Spain.

    Atelier Interactive Acrylics have been used by international professional artist Jeremy Fox-Rayner M.S.I.A. in the creation of a grand public mural in Spain.
    The mural is large at 3.66m x 2.44m for the concourse of the new Ayuntamiento (nearest equivalent is town hall) Albox, Andalucia, in Southern Spain.

  • Scouts and Girl Guides- Hornsby Gang Show

    In 2009 Chroma Australia supported the Hornsby Gang Show, with donations of paint which were used to make needed sets. Last year’s show was called “Once upon a Time” and was held at the Asquith Boys High School Theatre in July.
    There were more than 130 participants including performers, groups involved in developing performers’ skills in singing, choreography, and acting, the stage production team and orchestra.

  • Artists' Society of Canberra

    Over 1,000 people visited the Artists' Society of Canberra's recent Spring Art Exhibition which was opened by Jon Stanhope. This year's exhibition was a great success with an increase in sales over last year and about 20% of the exhibition sold.

    Chroma Australia sponsored some Atelier Interactive prizes for various sections of the show, including Rosemary von Behrens' winning painting, Exposed . This painting gained first prize in both the Abstract/Contemporary and Best Acrylic Painting categories.

    Other prizewinners partly sponsored by Chroma in a number of other categories were Patricia Wheatstone, Wilma Southern and Chan Dissanayake.

  • National Art School HSC Intensive Program

    Chroma recently sponsored an HSC Intensive Studio Practice program run by the National Art School. The program was designed to enhance and extend students’ technical and conceptual knowledge and skills through intensive practical study.The National Art School has the longest continuing history as a public art school in Australia. It is located in Sydney's Darlinghurst within the old goal designed by Francis Greenway The school has run the course over the last 10 years with the aim of extending and enriching the students’ visual arts practice technically, conceptually and intellectually. This is a NSW Board of Studies endorsed course for HSC Visual Arts students.

  • GSB Youth Award

    In June We sponsored the Glamorgan Spring Bay Youth Award in Tasmania.
    The winning painting and artist was Prudence Raspin with her painting "Maria Island at Night"
    Prudence received the award from one of the judges, Stephen Lees. She is featured here next to the painting with her mother.
    Lona Turvey of the Glamorgan Spring Bay Council wrote in appreciation of our sponsorship of the Youth Award.

  • Story Boards for Egerton Primary School by Cool Canvas, UK

    Year six students from Egerton Primary School created pieces of exterior art work to be on permanent display on the front wall of the school. Cool Canvas were commissioned by Liz Zsargo, head teacher at the school to create 4 four large colourful story boards depicting the seasons. Community involvement is the centre piece of Cool Canvas’s philosophy towards the creation of art projects with community involvement and links to businesses such as Chroma .

  • ART IN THE MAKING PROGRAM

    Chroma sponsored Moruya Primary School with Atelier Interactive artist’s quality paints for art making activities.The aim was to create pieces for a fund raising auction,they managed to raise $7500 for future school art resources. This country Primary School is aware of the benefits that encouraging creativity brings to learning. Within the last two years the school's quest has been to promote art making.
